Oh, deep, deep irony,
#MSSociety (USA). Sex matters and this is why...
But first, the context:
A 90-year-old woman, a volunteer of 60 years standing, has been "asked to step down" from her position.
Because she doesn't understand the modern farce that is ungrammatical pronouns.
#Ageist
A colleague (a paid one, no doubt) asked Fran Itkoff to use her pronouns in her email signature. She was confused about how she/her pronouns could be labelled as "all-inclusive" if it was referring to females and not males. Her daughter, Elle Hamilton, said, "To me, it's ironic, because they are saying they are inclusive, but they are excluding a 90-year-old disabled woman."
#NotInclusive
I think the screenshots below encapsulate the whole
#MSSociety shitshow quite neatly:
1) Women, the site says, are "assigned at birth".
No, they're not.
Sack your copywriters.
Get rid of the useless, bone-idle prats with snot-rings and grunge-dyed hair.
60 years that woman has worked for you for free.
They have not acted with the "best intentions" at all. They are the Gender Stasi.
Sex matters and your own site states the reason why!
2) Their site clearly states that MS is 3 times more likely in WOMEN than men and that it's more prevalent in those of child-bearing age!
In which case,
#MSSociety, it is absolutely beholden on you to damn well know the difference between the sexes. Men can't bear children.
It is core to any research your organisation is using donors' hard-earned money for and in the service of which your unpaid workers give up their time.
For SIXTY years.
Itkoff’s family has won several awards for their work with the
#MSSociety, including her own Volunteer Lifetime Achievement award in 2008.
