Jesus is alive A lot of coffee, and a little reading 💡@solodefense Proverbs 11:14 “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” Not too long ago I was privileged to shadow a pastor friend of mine for three hours, who not only is a mentor, but sits on the pulpit committee of the church that God allowed myself and my wife to found and pastor. As we drove around their beautiful 125 acre campus God has given them, he took the time to show me the foundation of the new school they were in the process of erecting. “The next move is our saferooms.” Being in the middle of Oklahoma tornado alley, in the planning process, they had already planned for a place where the students, faculty, staff, and administration could go for safety in the storm, a safety net as it were. Not far from where we live, the men have been working high above the lake reconstructing, shoring up, and replacing the old bridges. One of the first things they put up is a massive net that spans the area they are working on.  While it is not so appealing to the eye, it is there to make sure every man has the best opportunity to make it home each night. Like the school and bridges, everyone of us are on a journey to build character, reputation, status, appeal, and integrity, trying to leave a legacy, path, and road for the next generation to journey on. None of us are exempt from slipping, falling, failing, or plain old missing the mark.   Whether you sweep the streets, clean the restrooms, work in design, production, sales and marketing, are CFO or CEO, pastor or parishioner, do you have a safety net around you? Have you secured yourself in advance of the storm?
