I feel like today was a test, and I passed. I was on my break and took my dog for a walk. A couple blocks away I found a bag of something that very easily could have destroyed this beautiful life I have worked so hard to build. I didn’t leave it, because I didn’t want a client, a child, or a pet to find it. I didn’t touch it, because I didn’t have gloves and wasn’t going to do that to myself. I stood in place and started calling my coworkers to come help me. I had to call a couple of people, but someone was there within five minutes to pick me up and help me dispose of it properly. I am not going to lie, it was triggering af, and my heart was racing, but I have worked too hard and come too far to destroy it all over a little baggie. I’m so grateful for my team and my support, and I’m so fucking proud of myself.
