It takes so much courage to stand up & share your story, especially when you’ve tried everything & still found every door locked tight. Exhaustion, lack of information and programs, no access to therapies, regional inequity, confusion - it’s no wonder families end up here.
So much love to this family. You aren’t alone in your struggle. There are too many going through this.
If @fordnation & @MichaelParsa aren’t moved into meaningful action on the #OntarioAutismProgram by stories like this, they’ve completely lost the plot.
Shame on them because they know this is happening.

In Doug Ford’s Ontario, children with autism are waiting for years to receive essential therapies while his government fails to deliver on its promise to fix the Ontario Autism Program.
According to this government’s own records, their current program budget will only fund 20,000 children for core clinical therapies.
That’s a far cry from the 60,000 children who need support – and the waitlist for core clinical therapies is only growing.
Over and over again, this government has failed Ontario families.

The #OntarioAutismProgram is MORE than just direct funding
Yes it's important but it's not the entirety of the program
Families should be utilizing the OTHER parts of the #OAP too
It's unrealistic to rely solely on therapy #autism #onpoli @ChildrenON

Those professionals are not moving in, and most services halt or at least dramatically reduce come adulthood. I am heartbroken to learn my #autistic son's therapy centre is closing because of @fordnation's cuts to the #OntarioAutismProgram and his indifference (hatred?) towards kids with #disabilities. This was my kid's community and a place where he was gaining vital skills & knowledge.
