BioForge turns 31 today. I've been heads-down on OpenBioForge - here's an uncut playthrough showing where things are at. Early combat, hit detection, dynamic effects, and more. #OpenBioForge#BioForgeyoutu.be/7CMTDYt2_nQ?si=e0_e…
Had some fun with AI to visualize what a #BioForge Unit AP-127 figurine might look like! Could be a cool #3DPrinting project once #OpenBioForge is complete.
Cool, how abput having to hold R1 for combat mode, so you can quickly switch between running and doing fight moves..kinda like having to hold the button to aim in old resident evil games. RE might be good template for controls in general
Experimenting with native analog gamepad support in #OpenBioForge! 🎮 Let me know your button layout ideas in the comments (keep in mind fixed cameras, and over a dozen attack types).
Excuse the amateur phone recording 😅

Been heads-down coding #OpenBioForge for months and forgot to post updates!
Latest: Quake-style console, motion-linked sfx and events, 168/188 script interfaces complete, Linux compatibility, and much more.
Back to coding! #BioForge#GameDev
Still topping my list of things I'm looking forward to!
Makes me wonder whether I should resume tinkering with my Norwegian translation for this or wait until this project is done 👀
Today marks 30 years since BioForge's release!
From playing it in '95, reverse engineering in the 2000's, to recreating its engine - check out this anniversary showcase of OpenBioForge, bringing this DOS classic into the modern era. #BioForgeyoutu.be/YZFhfYX1uVk?t=1
BIOFORGE COMPLETED! Special thanks to @openbioforge for helping me out. Will play again someday... Maybe his recreation? I feel complete now, though. I can move on!
2/6 OpenBioForge aims to faithfully recreate the BioForge engine with QoL improvements. BioForge's most criticized aspect? Controls and combat. I'm tackling that head-on. #RetroGaming
1/6 Significant refinement of movement/animation in #OpenBioForge! Most complex cut-scene now working (minus projectiles & some details). Check it out. Interested in a tech deep dive? Read on... #BioForge#GameDev
Very nice. I'm looking forward to seeing more! I have only recently started to dive into trying to understand the script engine myself. Lots of work, the fun kind.
Bioforge is a special game and many people will come out of the woodwork to help this out especially if it means extensions to the experience
Also too wordy, my posts, let’s just end with
A FORK!
Tim here is the mastermind behind this. I'm just a spectator who has a deep respect for the project. Watching him reverse engineer the game was super cool. Makes me realized how convenient we have it with modern simple tools & utility.
But I think your support is awe-inspiring!
I’d you need to hit this art direction for new assets do not pass go without sending me a message. I’m in no shape to generate assets but I’ll run the analysis of what to do and what not to do for free
