๐ฌ Despite the impact, limited access to costly instruments hinders progress.
#OpenSource initiatives like openSPIM and OpenFlexure aim to democratize technology, but integrative systems are crucial for collaborative innovation.

The wait is over! The winners of the 2023 #NikonSmallWorldInMotion competition have been revealed. Check out the full video gallery here: bit.ly/3t8y9VA
Very interesting! I wonder why you need a light sheet instead of a normal wide field fluorescence mic?
We are using an OpenSPIM in combination with sample immobilization in a gel to quantify small fluorescent particles in a volume.
Come over and learn that my haircut hasn't improve much since this photo was taken - 6 years ago ๐ Anyway, let's build some #matchboxscopes and image some @ZebrafishRock's with the @openspim inspired @OpenUc2-based #lightsheet.
Building a microscope is simple โ They said. Tomorrow our Seminar Series welcomes @beniroquai who is leading a hands-on session tomorrow @SussexUni teaching us how to build our own 5$ cloud-connected microcontroller-based microscope. #neuroscience#futurefridays

Last week I had the privilege of visiting the amazing facilities of @mpicbg, including a sneak peek of their OpenSPIM. Many thanks to my excellent guides @PavelTomancak and Jan Peychl! #lightsheet#microscopy
Asking for a friend: Static/Straight/non-bendable FEP tubes for #lightsheet microscopy - is this a thing? Or DIY-only? CC: @ReynaudEmmanuel @openspim@huiskenlab
This is very true, both projects are looking at different scales.
OpenSPIM is for living objects in the 100um-1mm range, and MesoSPIM is for optically cleared objects in the 1mm-1cm (or even bigger) range.

we concede...LSM has won the show! OPT'rs will just step aside and hibernate.
Seriously, our biggest problem has been keeping up with micromanager updates, and lack of interest in the technique (even commercial)
the #openspim community has done a better job with support. kudos
