TIAGo Pro – Mobile Manipulation Platform
The TIAGo Pro robot is equipped with Series Elastic Actuators in its arms, enhancing manipulation capabilities and supporting research in advanced Human-Robot Interaction. Its design makes it suitable for applications in agile manufacturing as well as potential use in healthcare.
The platform includes hardware upgrades such as safety brakes in the arm joints, EtherCAT communication at 1 kHz, and increased computational power. These features improve control, reliability, and efficiency, making it a robust system for applying machine learning and other advanced algorithms in real-world tasks.

TIAGo Pro is a mobile manipulation robot designed for applications in agile manufacturing and healthcare. It features arms with series elastic actuators to support precise manipulation and improved human–robot interaction.
The platform includes several hardware upgrades, such as safety brakes in all arm joints, an EtherCAT communication bus operating at 1 kHz, and increased onboard computational capacity to support machine learning–based tasks.
Its arm configuration expands the robot’s workspace, allowing it to reach objects on the floor or on high shelves while maintaining a compact form factor. TIAGo Pro also supports ROS 2 and integrates speech-processing capabilities, including offline recognition, voice synthesis, and configurable wake-word detection, enabling more natural interaction with users.
