Willem, hij weet vast wel hoe het zit maar hij is nu eenmaal professioneel journalist. Het grote probleem is dat de symptomen van PASC EN PASCV niet te onderscheiden waren toen de diagnoses werden gesteld. (Daar wordt nu aan gewerkt door biomarkers te definiëren. Gebrekkige studie nog, maar wel peer-reviewed erkenning van het bestaan van vaxschade.) Meestal was en is zelfrapportage doorslaggevend voor de diagnose Long Covid. "Sinds wanneer heeft u er last van?" 'Nou toch wel zeker zes maanden, anders zat ik hier niet' "En wanneer heeft u Covid gehad" 'Ik ben wel ziek geweest, even kijken, ik denk vlak daarvoor'. "Ja dan is het long covid". 'Ja zeker weten. Ik heb ook direct daarna een booster gehaald, ik dacht: dit nooit weer!' Alleen "anti-vax artsen" (de paria's van 2021) zouden PASCV diagnosticeren, met alle risico's voor hun hypotheek van dien. Daarbij was er geen IDC-10 code voor PASCV, geen geld, geen aandacht en geen behandeling. Sterker nog: dat was er wel voor die verschrikkelijke ziekte maar als je ook maar dacht aan vaccinatieschade, was je een anti-vaxxer, die lui had je zelf immers nog uitgelachen. En je arts vond dat ook. Meer algemeen psychologisch: mensen verschuilen zich liever achter overmacht dan dat ze een diep gevoelde overtuiging achteraf als fout erkennen. Dat kun je ze niet kwalijk nemen. Luister maar naar Oprah Winfrey: obesitas is een genetische ziekte, daar kun je niks aan doen. Zo denken dikkerds er natuurlijk graag over, dat is de weg van de minste energie. Dus op dat argument 'Zo denken de LC patiënten zelf er niet over' is wel wat af te dingen. Gevaccineerden en cognitieve dissonantie, het is zeer problematisch. Misplaatst vertrouwen waardoor je iets in je lichaam hebt laten binnenkomen. Maarten, mocht je dit lezen, denk je nog aan het antwoord dat je zou schrijven? Het was een leuk geintje van dat baby's eten en koffers geld van farma dragen, virusvaria.nl/van-trias-poli… maar nu ik deze post over Long Covid zie, zou ik het bijna geloven. Tenminste, deels.
