That's funny thing. In game M1A2 SEP was modeled as SEPv2, but OG M1A2 was modeled as M1A2 SEP with the UAAPU and the PLGR antenna.

I was on a tank where the LT took lead in the order of march when we were in Kuwait in 1998. The 2 Tank TC couldn't use a PLGR and got lost twice. The LT decided that was enough. He never got lost.
I never actually witnessed an LT get lost. Not once.

This reminds me of the Marine in Desert Storm who said he didn't need "space" (capabilities) to navigate, because he had his GPS. He literally had no idea the PLGR was fed by a constellation of satellites. Keith doesnt know where weather forecasts come from.

How do you accurately call for fire without a compass?
How do you accurately determine on ground while dismounted where the enemy is?
Range Calc on a PLGR and DAGR also require an azimuth along with distance.

Kind of like MAGRs, only MAGRs were fastened in place.
F-18 earlier builds featured a CAINS II INS aided by a MAGR, which actually was fairly accurate. Later builds used the H764G EGI. Super Hornet may use the NG EGI for all I know.
