#Telangana: Chief Minister
#RevanthReddy announced that an additional 3,000 buses will be handed over to
#RTC through women's self-help groups in the coming days. This is in addition to the 553 buses handed over today under the
#MahilaShakti scheme.
Under the Praja Palana - Pragati Pranalika program, the Chief Minister participated in the women's carnival held at Secunderabad Parade Grounds. He flagged off 553 buses under the Mahila Shakti scheme managed by women's groups.
Ministers Seethakka, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, several public representatives, senior officials, and women from self-help groups participated in large numbers.
CM Revanth said that his goal is to make one crore women crorepatis. He added that measures will be taken to ensure that buses purchased by SHGs from anywhere in Telangana are eligible to be handed over to RTC.
"There are currently 67 lakh members in self-help groups. Enrolment must reach 1 crore. The responsibility to make one crore girls into crorepatis is mine," said the Chief Minister, explaining the programs undertaken for women's welfare on this occasion.
"This government has ample space for women. We have launched several programs as part of the goal to make one crore women crorepatis by 2034. I will soon tour parliamentary constituencies across Telangana. Women's groups must be ready with local business plans," he said.
"Farmers in the state should start exploring profitable agriculture. Crop diversification must happen. Instead of just paddy and maize, pulses like red gram and black gram, millets, vegetables, and fruit orchards should be cultivated. We have launched an international fruit market with Rs. 2,400 crore to market agricultural products," he reminded.
"Awareness should be created among farmers and farmers' associations on crop diversification. Women's groups should take up that responsibility. Educated women in women's groups should work to create awareness among farmers," he urged.
"I will fully cooperate to make girls financially independent. Under the supervision of women, welfare and development programs will run smoothly. That is why we are handing over implementation responsibilities to them in many areas. We are also sanctioning Indiramma houses in women's names."
CM Revanth shared that plans are being made to build 1 lakh houses in urban areas. "These houses will also be given in women's names. Property should always be in the name of girl children," he added.
"The government has paid over Rs. 10,000 crore to RTC through
#MahalaxmiScheme providing free travel facilities for women. Under the Amma Adarsha Pathashala name, we have handed over the management responsibility of 27,000 schools in the state to women," said CM Revanth.
"We have given them the responsibility of managing Mahila Shakti canteens. We have instructed collectors to identify government lands in district centers wherever available and provide opportunities to set up petrol pumps. We have launched 8,000 Stree Shakti buildings at once."
"Mahila Shakthi buildings at the corporate level are coming up in district centers. Not only have we provided Rs. 61,000 crore in bank linkages to self-help groups, but we have also paid Rs. 2,000 crore to banks under zero-interest schemes" he said.
As part of the Mahila Shakti and Mahalaxmi schemes, on this occasion, the Chief Minister handed over checks to self-help associations and mandal women's associations. He provided checks worth Rs. 20.34 crore as rent for the buses handed over to RTC, Rs. 10,700 crore saved under free travel, and Rs. 500 crore under the interest-free loan scheme.
