About OpenAI's code red...
I've been in the AI space for almost 4 years now, every day.
I've seen how things evolve, and I've had discussions with absolutely every AI company out there, except one: OpenAI.
I never approached any of these companies.
They came to me. They asked for feedback, they listened, and they came back with their updates, and the cycle repeats.
Earlier this year, Google invited me to I/O, where absolutely everyone from the AI team was locked in, and you could see their genuine passion for pushing AI forward as leaders in the field.
We talked about the future of AI for three days straight and about our needs as AI creators. And they just listened to what we had to say.
The discussions continued long after I/O with constant feedback sessions, big or small.
This is valid for almost everyone else I interacted with or worked with over the last few years: Leonardo AI, Topaz Labs, Higgsfield, LTX, invideo, Kling, Hailuo, PlotDot, Suno, Udio, and many, many others.
And to OpenAI, I just want to say this:
Listen to the AI community. Be involved. We're here pushing the limits every single day, more than anyone else.
Stop being cocky and listen!
We just want a solid foundation model, and GPT-5 was not it.
When you've got that, you build on top of it.
PS: Also, OpenAI didn't listen at all to the needs of AI creators; they did what they thought was needed and built an absolute SOTA video model that nobody uses...
