Several friends say that soon after exposing the high handedness of #Islamabadpolice, I shared a post making explanations to police high-ups: Frankly speaking when I posted #Islamabad #Pakistan becoming a #policestate, I was given a clear message that 'Yes, we are a pllice state.' What I responded was international i.e. to tell Interior Minister and police high-ups that I do not want to cause any damage to police. Nor am I seeking any privilege from police but that, unlike the past, #Islamabadpolice is really resorting to high handedness. I am not picking any confrontation with police or other agencies but as a journalist and intellectual activist I will continue my struggle for civil liberties and #standup4humanrights in #Pakistan. That is a totally peaceful and harmless struggle. I do not have any enmity with police as a department.

Car was stopped, window pane lowered and hand put in pocket to show him ID Card - even telling him that the car was not entering Red Zone, rather going the opposite side. But he commanded to put off headlights, though the lights were already dim. "Why are you doing all this when I am telling you that I am not even entering Red Zone - though I can enter there for duty as I am a journalist?" "You can do your duty but only with my permission," the policeman said in a commanding tone. All this he did only to impress his accompanying FC (paramilitary) companion with his authority , NOT EVEN CHECKING ID. After lengthy pleadings, he utters: "I am setting you free only because you have your family with you." Just 2 years ago a company called Leonardo patented a technology called "SignalTrace" that uses local mesh networks to track all of the electronic devices (cell phone, watch, bluetooth ear buds, some implanted medical devices, credit cards, etc...) on you and in your car as you go down the road and pairs that info with the license plate readers & AI powered facial recognition cameras that are everywhere already creating a digital ID for you that can track your location/movement/biometrics/etc... with or without your car. This unconstitutional technology is already in use in ALL 50 states. The data this tech uses isn't secured at all and is shared with any government agency/business that will pay for it. Of course, most customers are governments paying this private company with your tax dollars.
