Federal Reserve May Pause Rate Cuts Again as Market Expectations Diverge The U.S. Federal Reserve will meet on December 10, with expectations for a 0.25% rate cut reaching 87.3%. However, many analysts believe there is a significant divide between the hawks and doves within the FOMC, and current Chair Jerome #Powell may lean hawkish in January. This has complicated market expectations regarding future rate cuts, with many institutions suggesting that after this month's cut, the pace of reductions will slow down or even pause, pending a change in leadership before considering policy easing. Analysts from Credit Suisse have pointed out that current inflation remains above targets, while employment conditions are stable. However, the divide between hawks and doves could impact future policy directions. Barclays Bank anticipates that even if there is a 25 basis point cut this month, the president of the St. Louis Fed may emphasize that if the labor market does not worsen, there might not be another cut in January. Based on analyses of inflation and employment conditions, institutions are cautious about the policy outlook for 2026, emphasizing that internal divisions could delay the rate-cutting process. Powell will likely find it increasingly challenging to seek consensus amid differing opinions in future meetings. #FederalReserve #RateCuts #Inflation #EmploymentMarket #FinancialMarket #InvestmentStrategy #PolicyDirection #EconomicForecast

THE PROMISE, Day 62/100 Pre-Election Manifesto vs. Realities of Governance: Mr. President, What's Your Policy Direction? Mr President has made pockets of decisions, seemingly reactionary to the present realities of governance. While these decisions may appear to provide hope for solutions, questions arise about their implementation, sustainability and the need for a comprehensive policy document to address both short and long-term realities. In times of economic challenges and uncertainties, it is crucial for the President to clearly communicate the government's policy direction to the nation. Nigerians seek assurance and confidence in the decisions that will shape the country's future. The recent decisions made by the President, while addressing immediate concerns, may lack the coherence and strategic vision necessary for sustainable development. Reactive measures, though sometimes necessary, must be complemented by a comprehensive policy framework that addresses the underlying issues. A well-crafted policy document considers the nation's current situation, envisions the desired future, and outlines the roadmap to bridge the gap. It provides clarity and stability, guiding governance decisions with a clear sense of purpose. Such a document ensures that the government's actions are aligned with its long-term goals, promoting consistency and credibility in its approach. While governance will always require adapting to changing circumstances, having a robust policy document as a guiding compass is essential. It allows the government to move beyond reactionary measures and work towards systematic, sustainable, and inclusive development. Mr. President, I urge you to consider the importance of a policy document that addresses both short and long-term realities. Engaging with experts, stakeholders, and citizens can enrich the formulation of such a document, making it a representation of collective aspirations. Let us look beyond the present challenges and strive for a Nigeria where governance is founded on a clear policy direction, transforming pre-election promises into tangible and lasting achievements for the betterment of all citizens. That’s all for today, see you tomorrow. May God bless Nigeria. 🇳🇬 #RenewedHope #Nigeria #PreElectionManifesto #RealitiesOfGovernance #PolicyDirection #SustainableDevelopment #Day62 #BuildingTheFuture
