India stands at a digital crossroads.
Electronic gaming today carries both promise and peril. On one side, unregulated gaming is putting children at risk.
On the other, millions of highly skilled young Indians are waiting for structure, recognition, and opportunity.
With over 500 million gamers, a market projected to grow from $3.7 billion to $10 billion by 2030, and nearly 2 million AVGC jobs on the horizon, Esports cannot remain in a policy grey zone.
That is why I urged the Government in the Rajya Sabha to regulate online gaming for child safety, and to grant Official Sports Status to Esports-so that talent is channelled, careers are legitimised, and India’s Yuva Shakti is empowered responsibly.
The choice is not between growth and caution.
It is between disorder and direction.
