A Bhosari resident had lodged a complaint with the consumer forum against an insurance company which had rejected his insurance claim when he was infected with coronavirus. The consumer forum has observed in its order that the patient is more important than the rules of the policy. It has ordered that the firm should pay Rs.10,000 within 45 days from the day of the order with an interest of 7 per cent as well as Rs.5,000 as compensation and an amount of Rs.3,000 towards the cost of the complaint. Vishal Sherkar, a resident of Hariom Park in Indrayani Nagar in Bhosari, had moved a petition through advocate Siddharth Pathare in the Additional District ConsumerDisputes Redressal Forum in June 2021 against Future Generali India Insurance Company Limited, which has an office at Wakad.
