🌹 The poppy became the official flower used to honor our fallen troops after World War 1. Following the war, the poppy flower spread across Europe, later attributed to the soil being enriched with lime left by the rubble.
In 1918, Moina Michael, who later became known as “The Poppy Lady,” read the In Flanders Fields poem. Inspired, she vowed to always wear a red poppy as a sign of remembrance.
