On June 23, 1912, Alan Turing, one of the 20th century's greatest scientists, was born. He saved thousands by cracking the Enigma code but faced persecution for his identity. Tragically, he took his life with a poisoned apple, inspiring the Apple logo. Remembering his legacy today. 🍏💡 #AlanTuring#EnigmaCode#PrideInScience

Finding a community within science can be hard. In tomorrow's episode, hosted by @oldmanjank, @drdre4000@joey_spaceman, both struggle with feeling out of place in science. Listen to these powerful stories wherever you get your podcasts 🌈#prideinstem#prideinscience
“A good scientist seeks evidence to support their theory, a better scientist seeks evidence to refute their theory” - Richard Feynman
Doubt is that characteristic that one is checking that their own position is correct. It’s the opposite of bigotry.
Enjoyed an AWESOME presentation from @jackie_saturno and @EBTSOYP on the Impact of Plastic Pollution on the Environment. It was also a great way to start off #PrideMonth and to hear the message on the importance of being your authentic self. 🌈 #prideinscience@TribuneDrive
It's always nerve racking to have our pride flag up when virtually meeting with people I don't know. I don't experience much discrimination thankfully, I'm very privileged. It's still scary.
