I think we need to explain the vision behind ZecMap a little more clearly.
When we started building this project, we sat down and asked ourselves a simple question: in a world where crypto adoption and real-world usage are growing so rapidly, why can’t we easily use Zcash as a payment method in our daily lives?
As we continued exploring the community, we realized how powerful and organic this ecosystem truly is. Watching everything grow step by step, thread by thread, was incredibly exciting for us. That’s exactly why we created ZecMap.
ZecMap is a platform where people can discover VPN services, wallets, online stores, and most importantly local businesses around the world that accept Zcash. It’s not only about making purchases either — users can even support businesses by sending tips, even if they don’t buy anything.
While building this platform, we did not receive any funding or grants from any official Zcash-related organization. Everything was created entirely through our own individual initiative and belief in the community.
Right now, the platform has only been live for a few days. Since we are still very new and haven’t yet been able to create enough excitement around marketing and awareness, growth is naturally happening slowly for now. But is that a reason to give up? Absolutely not.
On the contrary, it motivates us to work harder, faster, and more professionally to build a real ecosystem.
At the moment, Android and iOS versions are being prepared. If everything goes according to plan, both mobile apps should be released next week.
As the ecosystem gradually expands, as more community support and contributions arrive, we believe this can evolve into something unstoppable. And honestly, that’s our goal.
Just imagine this for a moment:
You travel somewhere in the world. You open the app, and instantly you can see every business nearby that accepts Zcash payments directly on the map — including their addresses, websites, social media accounts, and contact information.
For us, this is one of the biggest visions we have for Zcash.
That’s why we are not approaching this project with a “make it go viral overnight” mindset. We believe in gradual growth, community involvement, and building something sustainable.
Right now, you can think of ZecMap as being in beta. There are currently around 20 businesses listed. But today it’s 20… tomorrow it becomes 100, then 1,000, and eventually 10,000.
Because people are starting to care more about their financial privacy. People want the freedom to make payments using the cryptocurrency that makes them feel the safest and most comfortable.
And Zcash is one of the strongest options capable of providing that freedom.
With ZecMap, we want to help bring those real-world use cases to life.
