I find the idea of proscouting in 2025 hillarious. Basically any 16 year old hockey fan can tell you every players micro stats and where hed fit in a line up but sure lets send jim to watch 1 game in person to see if he sees anything different #nhljets

Whether its proscouting or chevy going after guys like monahan and henrique when young guys like strome were literally on waivers. And willing to trade 2nds for tanev and schenn but not guys like reichel and salomonsson. Its a big problem that will bite them this year

The knocks id have in chevy are proscouting, drafting post 2016, but the weirdest thing is he seems to stick allegiances to players for reason and be blind to poor performance , stanley, appleton, namestikov, 81-55-26, pionk.

So you’re saying they should have simply drafted Bedard, Celebrini, Michkov? Man why’d Yzerman pass on those guys?? That also wasn’t harsh at all their proscouting is objectively terrible.

If you look past the slew of terrible proscouting whiffs you alluded to and current roster, they have one of the best prospect pools, studs in Raymond/Seider/Edvinsson, and no bad contracts on the books past 26/27 which ideally is when they’d like to be competing.

At the end of the day, Benning's proscouting (or lack thereof) is what did him in. He made so many bad bets. Sooo many haha 😂
Allvin and Rutherford have been money. Sharpshooters with pinpoint accuracy. Almost every move has paid off and the rare misses have been manageable.
