Despite the unusually cold and windy weather, our teams showed up strong at Vet Fest in Farmingdale! šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Our Mobile Recovery team, Veteran Peers, and partners from @NorthwellHealth / Project Connect were proud to stand alongside more than 40 community organizations to connect with, support, and thank Long Island’s veterans for their service. Hi Lion @SenTedCruz - immense amounts of bullshit afoot here in Austin with #ProjectConnect and #ATP Feel like doing a thing? Please do a thing.
One correction to the story: In October 2024, ATP had to update its cost estimate with the FTA. ATP jacked the cost from $7.1B to $8.234B. ATP has never mentioned that cost increase to the public locally. So much for transparency. axios.com/local/austin/2026/…

Meanwhile, @ATP_org & @austintexasgov continue to burn through millions in taxpayer dollars on the #ProjectConnect boondoggle that is clearly being illegally funded. @KirkPWatson need to pause all further ATP spending until this case is fully litigated

In 2020, Austin voters had high hopes for #ProjectConnect, a massive expansion of @CapMetroATX’s transit system. But nearly six years later, the project has ballooned in cost but shrunk in scope and is losing support from residents. From @TexasTribune. austincurrent.org/2026/05/21…

Great post! ProjectConnect has become nothing more than a boondoggle and gravy train for a bunch of ā€˜new urbanist’ grifters. Actually, it began that way and it’s gotten worse. Cancel it @austintexasgov!!
Austin has the highest office vacancy rate anywhere in the country, but we poor billions into a light rail system to run right by those offices. Folks, our Mayor and Council are NUTS. reddit.com/r/Austin/s/IcErc4…

In November of 2020, Austin voters said ā€œyesā€ to Project Connect—a bold plan to expand transit for generations to come. Since then, we've launched 5 pickup zones, introduced the 800 & 837 Rapid Lines and the McKalla station located at Q2 Stadium. šŸ”€ See how it all connects: capmetro.org/about/40years #CapMetro40 #CapMetroTurns40 #ProjectConnect

šŸ‘‰ 5 years after approving ProjectConnect, Austin voters still don't have light rail. Since then, the project has been significantly scaled back, yet the cost remains the same 🚌 Several rapid bus lines included in the plan have been delayed. Also, @CapMetroATX is dangerous!
Will Austin voters pass Proposition Q on Election Day? Here's what we know @statesman #propq #atxcouncil #affordability statesman.com/news/local/art…

Today the @CapMetroATX Board approved two interlocal agreements with @ATP_org to help advance #ProjectConnect. Thanks to the ATP team for the collaboration & to the ATP Board for approving them last week. More improvements on Rapid 800 & 837 are just ahead! ļæ¼

For a fraction of the money Austin is laundering through @ATP_org for the ProjectConnect rail boondoggle, we could have a robust, adaptable rapid bus transit network with enough security to keep it safe. Why are naive ā€œurbanistsā€ obsessed with 19th century fixed rail transit?

This morning we celebrated the completion of a major infrastructure improvement alongside @austintexasgov & @austinmobility. The #CapMetro Rapid stops at the Manor & 51st intersection are a cornerstone of our system expansion through #ProjectConnect, and will help better connect the growing East Austin communities to our larger transit network. It's important that improvements support all types of travel, not just public transit. Working with our partners at the City, we saw an opportunity to create a safer intersection for walking, biking and driving, and we're so excited to see this vision come to life!
