Recently, while following-up on a loud muffler complaint, one of our officers had opportunity to speak with a young driver’s father about the impact excessive noise has on the community. The vehicle was grounded until a legal exhaust could be reinstalled. We need more of this…

Observed in the same area speeding, 90km/h in a 50km/h and making unnecessary excessive noise again. Driver issued tickets for Speeding, Unnecessary Noise, and, No Muffler, with order to be fulfilled. Fines of $560 and 4 demerit points on conviction #projectnoisemaker 2/2 ^JB

Mufflers are also required to pass a safety inspection. Repair verification notices issued to confirm mufflers in good working condition have been installed. Drivers educated and charged accordingly. Excessive noise is a common complaint we receive. 2/2 ^JB #projectnoisemaker
