Rourkela Police continues its commitment towards community-centric and technology-driven policing. In a significant achievement, Rourkela Police today recovered and returned 106 stolen and lost mobile phones worth approximately ₹32 lakhs to their rightful owners. During a special distribution programme held at Police Headquarters, SP Shri Nitesh Wadhwani, IPS personally handed over the recovered devices, reiterating the department’s dedication towards safeguarding citizens’ property and building public trust. This success is a result of “Project SHIELD”, a technology-enabled initiative leveraging AI support and the Integrated Control Room to track habitual offenders and monitor city activities through a network of 220 CCTV cameras.
