✅ Incidental amyloid deposition ✅ in the seminal vesicles identified in a prostate specimen.
H&E demonstrates amorphous, extracellular eosinophilic stromal deposits. Congo red confirms amyloid with classic apple-green birefringence under polarized light. Examination with fluorescence microscopy enhances sensitivity and contrast for detecting the deposits.
Seminal vesicle amyloidosis is typically localized and age-related, most often derived from seminal vesicle secretory proteins, and is usually not associated with systemic amyloidosis in the absence of clinical findings.
