Absolutely. The greatest threat to any democracy is not disagreement, it is unquestioning obedience.
India's freedom struggle was built on questioning authority, challenging injustice and speaking truth to power. From Mahatma Gandhi to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, our nation was shaped by people who refused to accept that those in power were beyond scrutiny.
Patriotism is not blind loyalty to a leader, party or government. Patriotism is loyalty to the Constitution, democracy and the right of citizens to ask difficult questions. A strong nation does not fear dissent. A strong nation encourages critical thinking, accountability and debate.
Democracy survives not because people worship power, but because they hold power accountable.

India may need a second independence movement. The first, led by Gandhi, sought political freedom. The second should seek freedom from Andh Bhakti - the habit of surrendering critical thinking to leaders, ideologies, and institutions. A nation truly becomes free when its people learn to question, think, and hold power accountable.
