Gone
In A
Moment
She was only 55.
Healthy.
Smiling.
Planning.
And then—gone.
No warning.
No time to prepare.
Just a headline.
A heartbreak.
A hole.
“It is appointed unto men once to die…” —Hebrews 9:27
When Death Comes Without Warning
We used to think we had time. Time to figure things out.
Time to get serious later.
Time to live first—and think about death someday.
But now? Now it feels like anyone could go at any time.
A celebrity chef.
A child.
A champion athlete.
No one is promised tomorrow.
Since 2021, the U.S. has seen over 2.6 million excess deaths—many of them sudden and unexpected, and many among younger and working-age adults.
We don’t like to think about death. But ignoring it doesn’t make it go away. It just makes us unprepared.
We scroll past the headlines.
We shake our heads. But somewhere deep inside, we wonder:
What if it’s me next time?
What if I don’t get to say goodbye?
What if I’m not ready?
That quiet fear isn’t weakness. It’s a warning. And maybe—it’s mercy.
When You’re Not Ready
You weren’t expecting to face this. Not this soon.
Not like this.
And yet—here you are, wondering what comes next.
The Bible says death isn’t the end. It’s the beginning of forever.
You were made by a holy God who sees every secret, every scar— and still loves you.
But sin separates us from Him. And no amount of effort, religion, or “goodness” can fix that.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of
God.” —Romans 3:23
“The wages of sin is death…”
— Romans 6:23
That’s why Jesus came. He didn’t just die—He died for you. He took your sin. Your judgment. Your place. And He rose again so that death doesn’t get the final word.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
—Romans 5:8
What Now?
You don’t need more time.
You need truth.
And now you’ve heard it.
Jesus Christ died for your sin. He rose again to give you eternal life. And He’s inviting you—even now—to trust Him.
You don’t have to clean yourself up. You don’t have to understand everything. You just have to believe. Not in yourself. Not in your goodness. But in Jesus, the one who cried “It is finished.”
Trust in His finished work on the cross.
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” —1 Corinthians 15:3–4
This is the most important decision of your life. Because one day—maybe sooner than you think—you’ll take your last breath. Are you prepared for eternity?
