In the bustling streets of Pune, mountains of discarded paper might seem like trash to most.
But for Pritu Chaudhary, each sheet held potential — a chance to turn waste into learning.
With her initiative Little Leaf, she has recycled over 100,000 kg of waste paper, transforming it into notebooks for students who couldn’t afford them.
“I feel waste is not just rubbish. It is an opportunity to create something valuable that benefits both the environment and society,” she says.
Her journey began with a simple yet powerful idea: to repurpose waste into educational resources, bridging the gap between scarcity and opportunity.
Through community engagement and partnerships with schools and organisations, Pritu has distributed thousands of notebooks — igniting hope and fostering a culture of sustainability.
Impact so far:
> 100,000 kg of waste paper recycled
> Thousands of notebooks were distributed to underprivileged students
> Partnerships with schools like GMI Girls School & PMC School, Dhobawadi
> Support from ,organisations including Inner Wheel Club of Khadki & FICCI Flo Pune
Pritu’s work not only tackles environmental concerns but also empowers the next generation with the tools they need to learn and grow.
