Made possible through a strong partnership between #PlacerCounty and local community organizations, today's #RedSandProject event organized by our Children's System of Care brought dozens of participants together to pour red sand into sidewalk cracks—honoring the children and families whose lives are impacted by human trafficking. The red sand is a powerful reminder not to let anyone “slip through the cracks,” and to keep our community vigilant and informed. #RedSandPlacer

The Red Sand Project is a participatory artwork that symbolizes those who have fallen through the cracks in our society. By filling sidewalk cracks with red sand, we aim to spark conversations and inspire change to address the vulnerabilities that lead to human trafficking. As a survivor-led victim service organization, we were incredibly blessed to demonstrate our advocacy and support for survivors in Washington, D.C., by filling cracks near the White House and the Washington Monument this past weekend.
