Cosmic Jellyfish
The IC 443 nebula, also known as the Jellyfish Nebula, resembles a giant cosmic brain.
The nebula is a supernova remnant with a pulsar (a rapidly rotating neutron star) lurking at its center.
This photograph was taken by astrophotographer Ogetay Kayali using the William Optics Redcat 51 III WFID telescope, a ZWO ASI2600MM astrocamera, and an H-alpha filter. Light was collected for 17 hours to obtain the final image.
