🚨 Clinic story that still pains me:
A couple had been in a relationship for three years and were having unprotected sex regularly because they trusted each other and felt there was no need for condoms.
Last month, the woman became pregnant. Both partners then got tested and both were found to be positive for HIV and gonorrhea. Now the man is feeling unwell with fever, body aches, and weakness.
The woman is crying, saying they should have used protection. The man is blaming her, saying she should have suggested they get tested. But the truth is, protection and regular testing are a shared responsibility. It is not about blaming one person.
In any long term relationship, one decision can have serious consequences, including unintended pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, and effects on the future.
My question is: who would you blame, the man, the woman, or both? And who carries responsibility for protection and regular testing in a relationship?
