Today, at Hedayah’s Communications Expo, we placed communications, technology and behaviour change at the centre of discussions on how to counter extremism and violent extremism. This fourth and final day of Hedayah’s International Research Conference and Communications Expo started with a strategic context briefing from Martyn Warr, head of the Counter-Daesh Communications Cell at UK
@FCDOGovUK.
The Expo heard from Thomas Kolster, Marketing and Sustainability Expert and Author
@dogoodvertising, who shared lessons on how to create and inspire effective and positive behaviour change, with a focus on how this practice might apply to countering extremism and violent extremism.
The Expo also included interactive discussions and organisations’ demonstrations on a range of pertinent, cutting-edge tactics; including how to harness technology to improve society, how communication can influence behavioural change and address drivers of radicalization and using AI to uncover critical operational insights from extremist content.
We thank co-hosts
