🎙️ Young People's Diplomats: Winners of the "Tell the World About Your Homeland" Competition Honoured at the National Centre RUSSIA
The awards ceremony brought together participants from different parts of Russia and abroad, as well as distinguished guests. Elena Galaktionova, Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Ties of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted that the competition helps to strengthen ties between countries.
💭 "The language used by the participants to speak about their small and large homeland is understood by everyone and needs no translation. A kind attitude towards one's own culture and towards foreign cultures, an equal and engaged dialogue — these are precisely the approaches that Russia promotes in the global humanitarian space. Culture has always served as a way to resolve contradictions, even irreconcilable ones", said Elena Galaktionova.
The winners and laureates of the competition were 62 young representatives from 22 Russian regions and 18 foreign countries. The total number of children and adults involved in the project is 110,000 people, said Ekaterina Averkieva, President of the Innovation Centre for the Development and Upbringing of Children and Young People.
💭 "It is particularly touching that many international participants, in their works, speak about the connection between their homeland and Russia. Through sincere children's stories, we see how deep and constructive a mark our country leaves on the world. Throughout history, wherever Russian people have gone, they have built — schools, roads, temples, nuclear power stations — they protect, help, share knowledge and culture. But we are a modest nation. We do good deeds not for glory, but because we consider it our duty. The 'Tell the World About Your Homeland' competition helps to see and preserve these living human connections, to tell the world about Russia and our sincere desire for friendship and cooperation", noted Ekaterina Averkieva.
In total, over 8,000 works were submitted to the competition by participants from 67 countries.
