John Riddell powered up his original Apple IIc computer for some 1984 monochrome action on Brøderbund's classic shoot 'em up Seafox. Taking command of an attack submarine, John finished his mission with a new high score of 67,390 points.
THE BROCKLESBY AT ANCHOR IN THE SOUND
@HmsBrocklesby a Portsmouth based Hunt-class mine countermeasures vessel is at anchor in the Sound tonight.
The Royal Navy ship has recently undergone a full modernisation and technological update, and includes autonomous and remote/offboard mine hunting systems.
Brocklesby is one of the Royal Navy's oldest ships in service, having been launched on 12 January 1982, and its primary purpose is to seek out and neutralise enemy mines using sonar technology, with trained mine clearance divers and the Seafox.
The SeaFox unmanned underwater vehicle is designed to locate and destroy ground and moored mines.

This confirms my guesses earlier on what RN MCM force on LYME BAY would be using to dispose of mines. SeaFox is not integrated with USVs and is not reported to be embarked; while disposal charges for the Saab ROV used as part of MMCM (ARIADNE USV on LYME) are not yet operational.
The @RN_DTXG will use a new leading-edge submersible ROV – battle-proven in Ukraine – should they encounter mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Defender-Viper nails a charge to a mine remotely - then withdraws to safety as the mine is blown up.

27 May 1936. First flight of the Fairey Seafox K-4304 from Hamble. British single engine reconnaissance floatplane. Powered by a 395 hp Napier Rapier 16-cylinder H-shaped air-cooled engine.
The REMUS 300 will ensure search down to 300 meters. MMCM is optimized for depths of up to 200, on paper.
The DEFENDER ROVs can dive down to 1000 meters and a short while back we were told of trials to fit them with a disposal charge placement solution.
No SEAFOX mentioned.
🌊 🦊 🫡 A little taster of what we’ve been up to, making sure we are ready for anything.
Here we are testing our ‘Seafox’ mine disposal system whilst also ensuring our important sea lanes remain safe for all mariners.

I am a SeaFox Star Goddess. My father was the Kitsune Prince and my mother the Mermaid Princess. They fell in love despite the ancient war between them. I was born blessed by the Star Goddess. I’m meant to bring the two sides together or become the force that destroys everything.
