🚨🇫🇷 THIS STARTUP MAKES PAPER FROM FALLEN LEAVES... NOT TREES
Releaf Paper figured out how to make real packaging from dead leaves on the ground - and yes, it’s way greener than tree pulp.
Their tech was born from a Ukrainian teen’s science project and now powers a Paris-area plant that recycles urban leaf waste into bags, boxes, and even bioplastics.
Their process uses just 0.066 kg of CO₂ per kg (that’s 70% less than normal paper), almost no water, and all the leaves come from within 20 km.
Big brands like L’Oréal and Samsung called them first. Literally. One exec chased them for weeks like a maple leaf in the wind.
They’re planning five more factories across Europe, then heading to the U.S., Canada, and Japan - with plans to turn everything from flower stems to pineapple leaves into packaging.
