The (W.O.W.) CyberBus' latest stop was at EXPlore: Pittsburgh Tech Week. This four-day event showcased Pittsburgh's tech ecosystem and highlighted the ways in which technology intersects with everyday lives through art, culture, and education. Executive Director Caster D. Binion and our CyberBus team had a robust day engaging with Pittsburgh's future tech leaders. HACP is committed to its mission to spread #digitalliteracy through the CyberBus and other digital literacy initiatives by providing our communities and the City of Pittsburgh with the digital resources that are necessary for education in today's technological world. The CS Explorers Summer Camp starts soon! Every year, we partner with @STEMCodingLab to provide middle school students (Grades 5-9) with a FREE opportunity to learn about careers in computer science, interact with pros and visit tech companies. Register at info@stemcodinglab.org.

Last week, HACP staff was honored to present at the @CLPHA #HousingIs2024 Conference on the incredible work our W.O.W. CyberBus is doing to help bridge the #digitaldivide. In partnership with the @BusStopsHereFdn and @STEMCodingLab, HACP communities are learning the skills they need to secure a job in today's world. The Bus Stops Here founder, NFL Hall of Famer @JeromeBettis36, recorded the following message to stress the importance of bringing this instruction to our residents and the surrounding communities. He notes that when the pandemic hit, we learned one in 5 homes in Allegheny County did not have access to the internet. The HACP (W.O.W.) CyberBus is now visiting Skyline Terrace in the Hill District (pictured) and Garfield Commons from 2:30 to 6 p.m. on alternating Mondays throughout the summer. The CyberBus will be at Garfield Commons next Monday, May 6. This trial basis is in hopes of expanding our digital literacy initiatives to different mixed-income communities. These efforts, partnering with the @BusStopsHereFdn and @STEMCodingLab, will continue to bridge the #digitaldivide in HACP communities.
