Every year thousands of adults cycle completely naked through public streets in London. No proper vetting of participants. No guaranteed protection for children who live, play, or travel along the route. Families cannot always avoid it. Children are exposed to full public nudity whether they want to be or not. This is not “body positivity” or “protest” in a private space — this is a public event that puts children at risk of unwanted exposure. And now we’ve seen it again: the co-founder of the Bellingham Naked Bike Ride has been arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography. This is exactly why safeguarding matters. Who is checking the organisers? Who is checking the riders? Who is protecting our kids? The Metropolitan Police even help organise the London ride.
