Today, marks a significant milestone in our journey towards strengthening rural connectivity and accelerating inclusive development under Wakro circle in Lohit District.
Inaugurated a series of key infrastructure projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-III), aimed at transforming rural connectivity.
🔹 The Kamphai Bridge (193.05 m) on the Kahre–Tillai road stands as the longest bridge under PMGSY in the State, introducing advanced CTB technology and ensuring seamless connectivity to Kathan Belt villages - Tillai, Kamban, Tumba, and Kathan while significantly reducing travel time to Wakro.
🔹 The NH-15 to Samblu Road (5 km), along with the Phal Nallah bridge, will provide all-weather access to Samblu village, boosting agricultural transport and improving livelihoods.
🔹 The Medo to Namgo Road (5.31 km) with bridge connectivity enhances inter-district movement and supports trade, especially for agricultural and tea produce.
🔹 Additional infrastructure including bridges over Phai Nallah and Khraipong Nallah, along with key road stretches like Kahre–Tillai and Medo–Namgo, further strengthen last-mile connectivity.
From its inception, PMGSY has aimed to bridge the rural connectivity gap ensuring that even the most remote villages are linked with reliable, all-weather roads. Over the years, we have not only expanded connectivity but also strengthened quality standards, monitoring systems, and construction practices across the State.
These projects are not just roads and bridges, they are lifelines that will enable economic growth, better access to markets, education, and healthcare, and improve the quality of life for our people.
