With all humility, I strongly oppose the move by the Parliamentary Committee, Hemant Bhai. The very idea behind AIIMS was medical education and research—not to become a VIP referral center for relatives of MPs. AIIMS was granted autonomy by the Hon’ble Parliament to uphold academic freedom, innovation, and evidence-based progress in medicine. If this Bill passes, doctors will be burdened not with science, but with the well-being of every chacha, tai, fufa of political leaders—because their “satisfaction” will become priority, not research. We all have only 24 hours. If 2–3 extra hours are spent catering to VIP egos, it will be at the cost of teaching, research, and ultimately—public healthcare. It's depressing to see the unfortunate condition of Delhi AIIMS, a premium apex medical institute built by the Nehru government for quality treatment accessible to the common public. With leaking lifts and other issues, the Modi government runs it in ruins. #SaveAIIMS
