Unfortunately, we are hearing CS classes more & more going up to 30. Has anyone managed to successfully plead the case to stay at 20?

š š to see this, but not at all surprising! CS continues to have the least number of teachers compared to traditional STEM subjects, the least places to train as a teacher, the worst overall uptake and the largest gender gap.

Big news for Michigan students! š Thanks to @GovWhitmer and @caglanville, every high school will offer computer science by 2027-2028. A huge step toward technological literacy and preparing young Michiganders for the future!

Fantastic to see some examples of how Computing Science impacts other areas of the curriculum being highlighted.

If sheās suggesting teachers can easily train in a specialism such as ASN, why not train them in Computing Science, which has the lowest number of teachers in history?!

The small progress that has been made will inevitably be undone if we don't address the recruitment & retention of CS teachers. Lack of CS teachers means lack of access in a subject that is yet to be a core subject & already has no equity of access.
