Good afternoon everyone,
There’s an important factor to remember. The Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission may call itself “bipartisan,” but at the end of the day it’s the Legislature that votes on whether these proposed changes become law.
We’ll soon see how many government MLAs are willing to stand up for northern Alberta when that vote comes.
In the meantime, every one of us can take part in the process. The Commission is inviting public feedback on its Interim Report from November 3 to December 19, 2025. You can submit your written comments at
abebc.ca or by calling 1-833-777-2125.
If you’d like your comments formally tabled in the Legislature, please email me at scott.sinclair@assembly.ab.ca and include the words “I consent to this email being shared in the legislature” in your message.
Northern Alberta contributes so much. Through resource development, infrastructure, and looking out for each other. We deserve fair representation.
The Commission will also hold public meetings in January 2026, with registration details posted November 24 on
abebc.ca. I’ll make sure to keep you up to date closer to the date.
Frankly, whether it’s 2017 or 2025, governments of any stripe should be adding seats back to the north, not taking them away.
Let’s keep our voices united and respectful, but firm.
Let’s make sure Lesser Slave Lake is heard loud and clear.
