The meeting notice issued by the Department of Culture, Government of #JammuAndKashmir, marks a commendable and timely initiative towards the promotion of the rich linguistic and cultural heritage of the region. Scheduled for 17th April 2026 at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, this बैठक aims to chart a concrete roadmap for revitalizing #Dogri language and reviving the historic Takri script.
It is indeed an honour to be invited as a Dogri promoter, reflecting a collective responsibility to preserve and propagate our mother tongue. The inclusion of key stakeholders such as the Traders Association and representatives from Raghunath Bazaar is particularly encouraging. The proposal to introduce Dogri—especially in #Takri script—on shop signboards in this iconic marketplace is both symbolic and practical. It can serve as a visible cultural renaissance, reconnecting the public with their linguistic roots in everyday life.
Special appreciation is due to Brij Mohan Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture, whose vision and proactive leadership have made this initiative possible. His commitment to promoting Dogri and preserving the nearly forgotten Takri script reflects a deep respect for heritage and identity.
Such efforts go beyond language—they strengthen cultural pride, intergenerational continuity, and regional identity. If implemented effectively, this initiative could become a model for linguistic preservation across India.
