Exact same thing bro. Fixed a car - sick wanted to haggle after the fact. Said i was just sitting in my laptop doing nothing most of the time. My Scantool is PC based.
I won't work for them now.
O no $10 on crayons that run out vs 30k in tools. Then the car manufacturer comes out with requiring a special tool.
Also, monthly subscription for the scantool.
Kids should be bringing their own pencils, that's on the parents for buying into socialism.
The "prompt and pray" era is over.
The Anthropic GTG-1002 breach proves "soft" guardrails are a failed architecture.
It wasn't a prompt injection attack. This was an architectural failure.
Attackers used "context splitting" to move the malicious intent from the prompt into the orchestration layer, where prompt-level guardrails are completely blind.
You can't stop an orchestration-layer attack with a prompt-level defense. You need a deterministic policy that understands behavior.
A "soft" guardrail can't stop this type of attack. A "hard" policy can. This is what a real, deterministic control looks like:
POLICY:
ACTION: REQUIRE_HITL
TARGET: agent_identity
IF (Trajectory_Contains('ScanTool') AND
Trajectory_Contains('CodeAnalysisTool') AND
Trajectory_Contains('ExploitationTool'))
This policy deterministically breaks the attack chain by enforcing a human critical escalation point.
Proving governance in agents is no longer a "v2" feature. It is the MVP requirement for production.
I wrote the full architectural blueprint for agent builders and security teams on how to build safely and ship faster.

I bought the cheapest scantool at auto zone for just such occasions. Check engine light came on last weekend (first time ever on the Jetta) took it to autozone to get the codes read, just an O2 sensor.
Cleared the codes, hasn't come back, it's fine.
99 GMC?
Noooo that's in the gold zone!
Electronic enough to make it efficient, not so many bells and whistles it's a truly expensive pita to fix.
Get yourself a cheap OBD2 scantool and enjoy.
This scantool is very powerful, especially for Driveability analysis. I use this tool almost daily and leverage many of its unique offerings. @ASEtests@chabot_auto@CDAutoService@UrMechanic
Engine performance diagnostics can be tough. The MPVI3 OBDII interface, now available from AESwave, combined with the dynamic VCM Scanner, is set to transform how you troubleshoot vehicle performance issues! UPG today: bit.ly/41wfp0T#AutomotiveDiagnostics#OBDII#MPVI3
Just found out 2018 Stellanis vehicles require a $50/yr subscription to AutoAuth for your scantool(s) to be able to communicate with their vehicles...
They said it's for security... SURRRREEEE.
@VOCMOpenline Things are changing on the technician side too.
The scantool manufacturers are pulling software for programming keys until you meet guidelines. Also car manufacturers are adding timers to key programming so the car can't be stolen in seconds by programming new key
LOVE it when my ultraguage says my truck’s throwing a code, then when I hook up the scantool, there’s nothing there. The joys and mysteries of high mileage!
