🌍 What if the first green revolution had started in 1899? 🚗 In 1899, a car named La Jamais Contente became the first vehicle to exceed 100 km/h. It made no noise. It burned no fuel. It was 100% electric. But history chose another path. The combustion engine won. And with it, over a century of CO₂ emissions. 📊 If humanity had gone electric as early as 1900, we could have avoided between 134 and 180 million tonnes of CO₂ by 2025. This estimate is based on: ✅ the historical growth of the global car fleet, ✅ an average of 15,000 km/year per vehicle, ✅ and actual emissions — including those from older vehicles still on the road (some emitting over 250 g/km!). ⚠️ And that’s just direct emissions! Add to that the refining, transport, and geopolitics of fossil fuels… ⸻ 🌱 La Jamais Contente wasn’t a dream. It was a future we let slip away. 👉 It’s not too late.
