STOP!
Your data’s at risk every time you use AI,
The DCML paper just cracked the code, and it’s handing you the keys to a secret vault that pays the creators too!
So, what’s the big idea?
The paper written by
@ilblackdragon,
@AlexSkidanov, and
@Pierre_Le_Guen tackles the problems with today’s AI.
Right now, using tools like ChatGPT means handing over your private data to huge companies... Risky.
Plus, if developers share their AI models for free, they lose out on making money.
And let’s be real, how do we even trust that these companies are using the right models they say we are, or keeping our data secure?
On top of that, everything’s controlled by a few big players, so if they shut down or censor something, we’re out of luck.
@NEARProtocol's solution is a decentralized machine learning cloud.
How does it work?
They use Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs)
A 2022 study from Frontiers backs this up, showing TEEs cut privacy risks with only a 3-12% slowdown compared to regular systems.
This means you can ask an AI to summarize your medical history, and even the server hosting it can’t peek at your info or the answer.
Plus, with cryptographic fingerprints—unique digital “IDs” for models, validated by 2025 research from ScoreDetect.
You can be sure you’re getting the real deal, not some knockoff.
They’ve tested this with heavy hitters like Mistral-24B, and it holds up!
Now, let’s talk money. The paper suggests a slick payment system: if you use someone’s model, a tiny fee gets deducted via blockchain, splitting the profit between the creator and the host.
Even if you’re offline or try to dodge the bill, the system catches it.
And for community projects, groups can pool funds, train models securely with TEEs, and share the earnings fairly, because no one can steal the unencrypted version.
This is a big leap compared to the current setup, where companies like OpenAI, valued at a whopping $157 billion by 2024, rake in the cash while privacy takes a hit.
@NEARProtocol's approach builds a future where AI is confidential, decentralized, and fair, letting regular people and small teams thrive alongside the big dogs.

What is DCML?
Decentralized Confidential Machine Learning enables any party that needs a reliable, confidential AI workload to leverage another party’s compute securely.
It provides the foundation for private, verifiable and user‑owned access and monetization of AI models 👇
