Meet our Morgawr at the Fisherman's Friends Festival… if you dare! Created by local artist SCAMP, with support from @CornishMetals, it has been brought to life using waste materials from Cornwall ScrapStore and items collected during a volunteer beach clean at Crantock.

The Hard Questions by Vajunnie with e9mund🪇 1. What’s the story behind your collection? There was a bunch of drawings I saw in an activity room at a local art gallery, looked like they were done by kids. It was a template outline of a hand, each one was coloured in different and had things stuck on them. I thought, 'Yeah, these are basically NFTs, I should try something like this.' So I picked up some stuff from the scrapstore, made 3 templates (John, Poliwhirl and a pint), and gave it a go. Around the same time, sat in traffic one day, I was looking at a Road Ahead Closed sign and thought, 'Ahead... A-head... like a head on a pint.' Then I knew. I kept some of the handmade traits in the collection, but it's mainly John stuff and photos from my phone – made more sense this way. Having done a couple hefty generative collections, I wanted these to be more intentional, so I manually exported about 900 (don't bother) and narrowed it down to 40. In short, Pints are an extension of John. ↓🧵

When I helped out at the local scrapstore, we were always getting stashes from people clearing relatives homes, and I was able to add to my already substantial collection of miscellaneous haberdashery and domestic tools. Bliss....!

Hi Craig, for future reference, if you have a 'Scrapstore' nearby, you could call them and they may collect? Scrapstores take unwanted items like this and schools/playgroups etc can collect and use them for crafts, art, and displays. 😁 @ScrapstoreBrist @Scrapstorexeter

Do you have a Children's Scrapstore nearby, like the Bristol one? I can't think why schools can't take them (but there is no lack of ability to invent such reasons these days).

Got another good sharkie boi from the scrapstore the other day (in nearly new condition too!!) and my friend named him scampi to go with all the others! (His older bro is called sushi)

Had a busy morning at the scrapstore for their 10th anniversary open day. Called in at the local german shepherd rescue centre on the way back. I gave them nearly a full bag of Faith's food and a carrier bag full of treats. I can see myself volunteering there in the near future!
