A sales rep submits a big Opportunity into an approval process, then messages you in a panic: "I need to fix one field but Salesforce won't let me edit the record!" Nothing's broken — this is by design. Salesforce Certified Administrator focus. 🎯 Layer B Quiz: Who Can Edit a Record That's Locked in Approval? When a record enters an approval process, by default it becomes locked. The rep who submitted it has Edit access to the object and owns the record — yet can't change a single field while it waits for approval. Which statement is correct about editing a locked record? A) Any user with Edit access on the record can still edit it — approval locking only prevents deletion, not editing B) By default, only administrators (users with "Modify All Data," or "Modify All" on that object) can edit a locked record.
