Decision to pull Gibson there tells me it’s not Alby making the calls
Just now how Cleveland was managed last year
Time for Elias and SigBot to let players play, and coaches coach.
The analytics are great for prep and construction.
They mean nothing after the first pitch
The Orioles' average exit velocity as a lineup tonight was 97.96 mph. That's the team's highest ever for a game in the Statcast era (2015-present).
They had *16* batted balls of 95 mph with just six hits (and two runs) to show for it.
The over the top obsession with versatility is maddening.
Your defense is awful, so your suggestion is to move around someone who hasn’t mastered his already new position to another one, all in the name of versatility?
I'd like to see the SIGBOT information that Mike Elias used before trading four prospects (two 1st rounders) and a Competitive Balance Round A Draft pick (No. 33 overall selection) for Shane Baz who has what appears to be AAA level command. On top of it, Elias liked him so much that he signed him to a 5-year, $68 million extension before he threw a pitch for the #Orioles.
Gotta get him & Sigbot & all their cronies TF outta Baltimore. This team is awful. I still cannot believe he signed Baz to an extension before he ever made 1 start in Baltimore.
its not the coaching its the GM, he is the only thing remaining. They have been through multiple staffs. The constant is Elias and Sigbot and their over reliance on analytics.
He never has. He's "part of the process" which means he's given a lineup and then if he has a problem he brings it up, but he doesn't set the lineup. As long as Elias and Sig are here it will be run this way. SIGBOT does not value outfield defense apparently.
It's unconscionable to run out Wilson and Rodriguez in LF and RF respectively as well as starting Alexander in CF for the 1st time as an #Orioles.
Whatever SIGBOT algorithm that doesn't value outfield defense needs to be buried.
