The Greatest lesson crypto thought me, is to always have a safety net. I still get a sick feeling in my stomach just thinking about 2024. I was such a green idiot back then, but I really thought I was the smartest girl in the room. I remember the morning I checked my wallet and saw 508 $SLN just sitting there. SmartLayer had actually come through. At the time, it was worth $3,000 . For me, that wasn't just crypto gains, it was life changing. I had bills piling up and honestly, people counting on me. But instead of doing the sane thing and hitting the sell button, I let the greed take over. I convinced myself that if I sold now, I was a coward. I told myself this was the one that would go 10x and solve every problem I ever had. I was so sure of it that I actually started hitting up my friends for cash, borrowing just to survive while I waited for my bag to moon. It’s painful to look back on now. I watched that 3k melt. It hit 1k and I told myself it was a dip. It hit $500 and I was paralyzed. I finally just... snapped. I sold the whole thing for $75 . Seventy five dollars, after all that stress, the borrowed money, the people I let down. I learned the hard way that conviction doesn't pay the rent. I don't care how solid a project looks anymore or how much hype around it. I always pull enough out to keep a safety net. It's funny that this was the first project I interacted with for an airdrop. The $ISLM vested daily drop funded my interaction with my second project, @SmartLayer (I bought $Matic to feed my Smart Cat). I managed to get my cat to level 20 before the snapshot and made my first mid-four-figure profit there. Good times, ngl. The lesson? Never give up because of a bad drop.
