Do the snow guards' holes need to be pre-drilled? The majority of our polycarbonate pad-style snow guards come with molded starter points. Our self-tapping screws can quickly drill through this material. These guards can, however, be pre-drilled if you'd like, but it's not required. We include pre-drilled holes in the aluminum SnoCleat PBR, SnoCleat 2.67, Snojax I, and stainless steel SnowCatchers. πŸ”— Learn more at snoblox-snojax.com #SnoBloxSnojax #SnoBlox #Snojax #SnowGuards #SnoBar #ColorBar #SnowRetention #RoofingIndustry #WinterPrep #SnowLoad #IceDams #RoofAvalanche #SnowGuardInstallation #RoofProtection #MetalRoofing #RoofingTips #SnowGuardExperts #SnowGuardSolutions #SnowGuardSystems #SnowGuardDesign #SnowGuardProducts #SnowGuardEducation #SnowGuardAwareness #HomeSafety #WinterRoofing #SnowGuardFacts

Can snow rails be installed on screw-down metal roofs? Snow rails install on screw‑down metal roofs when the panel has bracket mounting points wide enough to allow installers to fasten the system directly into the roof structure below. Exposed-fastener AG panels, PBR panels, and R-panel roofs often use screw-down SnoBar or ColorBar systems. πŸ”— Learn more at snoblox-snojax.com #SnoBloxSnojax #SnoBlox #Snojax #SnowGuards #SnoBar #ColorBar #SnowRetention #RoofingIndustry #WinterPrep #SnowLoad #IceDams #RoofAvalanche #SnowGuardInstallation #RoofProtection #MetalRoofing #RoofingTips #SnowGuardExperts #SnowGuardSolutions #SnowGuardSystems #SnowGuardDesign #SnowGuardProducts #SnowGuardEducation #SnowGuardAwareness #HomeSafety #WinterRoofing #SnowGuardFacts

Only the SnowBreaker can be used with 3M double-sided tape. Because of its shape, it breaks up the snow and ice rather than holding it in place. Double-sided tape is never a recommended attachment method for snow guards whose intended purpose is to retain snow and ice on the roof surface. We consider 3M tape a temporary solution only for use with the SnowBreaker when weather conditions are unfavorable for the adhesive curing time. πŸ”— Learn more at snoblox-snojax.com #SnoBloxSnojax #SnoBlox #Snojax #SnowGuards #SnoBar #ColorBar #SnowRetention #RoofingIndustry #WinterPrep #SnowLoad #IceDams #RoofAvalanche #SnowGuardInstallation #RoofProtection #MetalRoofing #RoofingTips #SnowGuardExperts #SnowGuardSolutions #SnowGuardSystems #SnowGuardDesign #SnowGuardProducts #SnowGuardEducation #SnowGuardAwareness #HomeSafety #WinterRoofing #SnowGuardFacts

If you have a building or home with a pitched metal roof, made of steel, copper, or aluminum, and you live in an area that experiences winter weather, it's wise to consider adding snow guards or snow rails. Without them, you could encounter problems during the winter months, such as sudden slides of snow that might put people, pets, or property in danger. Pad-style snow guards are small, individual units manufactured from either polycarbonate or metal. These guards can be mounted mechanically or with adhesive (only using polycarbonate styles). A snow rail system consists of 6' or 12' long metal bars that attach to your roof with clamps (for use with standing seam roofing) or brackets (for use with screw-down roofing). In most cases, a bar system requires fewer rows of products but is typically more expensive. Regardless of your selected system, we never recommend installation in isolated areas such as above doorways or over HVAC units. A proper system will span the entire roof length and typically require multiple rows up the slope for appropriate weight distribution. πŸ”— Learn more at snoblox-snojax.com #SnoBloxSnojax #SnoBlox #Snojax #SnowGuards #SnoBar #ColorBar #SnowRetention #RoofingIndustry #WinterPrep #SnowLoad #IceDams #RoofAvalanche #SnowGuardInstallation #RoofProtection #MetalRoofing #RoofingTips #SnowGuardExperts #SnowGuardSolutions #SnowGuardSystems #SnowGuardDesign #SnowGuardProducts #SnowGuardEducation #SnowGuardAwareness #HomeSafety #WinterRoofing #SnowGuardFacts

What are snow guards for metal roofs and how do they work? Snow guards for metal roofs are devices that hold snow and ice in place so it melts gradually instead of sliding off in dangerous sheets. Snow retention systems control the release of snow and ice by allowing it to melt gradually or shed in small, manageable amounts. Polycarbonate snow guards are also commonly referred to as snow stops, snow brackets, or snow blocks. These devices are typically installed on sloped metal roofs in areas that receive winter precipitation. Snow guards improve safety, reduce liability, and help protect property from damage caused by sliding snow and ice. Our clear, polycarbonate snow guard products help prevent damage from avalanching snow and ice while remaining practically invisible, adding beauty and function. Please see our metal roof snow guards buyer guide for information on how to choose the right snow retention system for your roof. We invented the first polycarbonate pad style snow guards and continue to lead the metal roof snow retention industry. See what works and what doesn't. πŸ”— Learn more at snoblox-snojax.com #SnoBloxSnojax #SnoBlox #Snojax #SnowGuards #RoofSafety #BuildingCodes #SnowRetention #RoofingIndustry #WinterPrep #SnowLoad #IceDams #RoofAvalanche #SnowGuardInstallation #RoofProtection #MetalRoofing #RoofingTips #SnowGuardExperts #SnowGuardSolutions #SnowGuardSystems #SnowGuardDesign #SnowGuardProducts #SnowGuardEducation #SnowGuardAwareness #HomeSafety #WinterRoofing #SnowGuardFacts

Across most regions in the United States, building codes typically do not mandate the installation of snow guards. However, there are certain areas, especially those that experience significant snowfall or have particular roof characteristics, where specific rules or suggestions regarding snow guards may exist. The main purpose of snow guards is to enhance safety and protect property by stopping large amounts of snow and ice from sliding off roofs and potentially causing harm or damage below. Although building codes generally specify how builders should construct roofs to support the weight of accumulated snow, they seldom require builders to install snow guards themselves. Standards such as the International Building Code mainly address the roof's ability to bear snow loads rather than preventing snow from sliding. It is important to review the local building codes in your area to determine if snow retention measures are necessary for your project. πŸ”— Learn more at snoblox-snojax.com #SnoBloxSnojax #SnoBlox #Snojax #SnowGuards #RoofSafety #BuildingCodes #SnowRetention #RoofingIndustry #WinterPrep #SnowLoad #IceDams #RoofAvalanche #SnowGuardInstallation #RoofProtection #MetalRoofing #RoofingTips #SnowGuardExperts #SnowGuardSolutions #SnowGuardSystems #SnowGuardDesign #SnowGuardProducts #SnowGuardEducation #SnowGuardAwareness #HomeSafety #WinterRoofing #SnowGuardFacts
