IGAD Ministers Adopt a Regional Plastic Pollution Prevention Strategy
IGAD today opened the Ministerial Meeting on the Adoption of the IGAD Plastic Pollution Prevention Strategy (2026–2035) in Djibouti — a regional framework promoting circular economy and source-to-sea approaches to reduce plastic pollution across the Horn of Africa.

Building on two days of expert deliberations, the meeting aims to adopt a unified regional strategy to curb plastic pollution through circular economy and source-to-sea approaches, while strengthening waste management systems across Member States.
