1/3 7 yrs ago I set up the DCC Artists Workspaces working group with @rayrightnow now chaired by @CllrCat to address the shortage of space for creatives. Now thanks to 9m funding from @LabDCC, @cathmartingreen & others, 60 new spaces will open thru #SpacetoCreate in these areas:
It's great to see these steps being taken by @DubCityCouncil and @DeptCultureIRL to address the critical need for artist workspaces.
These plans align with our ambition for more spaces to be developed for artists across Ireland to make work.

Just announced: 60 artist workspaces will be delivered in Dublin with €9m in funding including €3m from @DeptCultureIRL
These workspaces include refurbished buildings, all part of the new #SpaceToCreate Capital Works programme.
Today we attended the launch of a €9m programme called #SpaceToCreate
This initiative will develop sixty artist workspaces in the Capital @DubCityCouncil
Fantastic news for artists in Dublin! We were delighted that @DubCityCouncil chose 2 Curved Street to launch the #SpacetoCreate programme. We look forward to the redevelopment work that will allow the building to offer workspaces for arts workers and organisations.
Today we are happy to announce a €9m programme called #SpaceToCreate. This initiative will develop sixty artist workspaces in the Capital. With funding support of €3m coming from @DeptCultureIRL, €3 million from @DubCityCouncil & €3m from a philanthropic donation.
